Child-Parent Relationships In Families With Neurotypical Adolescents

Pandemic-induced events have unveiled these problems in functional (neurotypical) families. In families, several conflicts provoked by teenagers’ pastime, their activities, being close contact a limited space, inability to interact with each other for long time, etc. has increased. This calls preventive and corrective work that will not be effective unless problem areas parent-child relations are pinpointed. The study aimed evaluate the system of neurotypical families adolescents. research methods included logical-theoretical analysis, Wasserman’s Parent’s Behavior Teenager’s Attitude towards Them (Teenagers about Parents) Parent Teenager questionnaire as main empirical toolkit. A total 136 people participated study, including 63 parents raising teenagers 73 middle schoolchildren grades 7–8. findings showed tend underestimate leading role upbringing children overestimate abilities feel children, consider they always right most interactions them, failing admit unfair or impetuous. adolescents believe that, regardless boy girl, father is perceived person who tends demonstrate his warm feelings acceptance child, prone strict control, respect opinion unpredictable educational care. Assessing mothers, both sexes highlight high positive interest. Mother’s bossiness, hostility, autonomy sons daughters assessed differently.
